After a pause caused by the pandemic in 2020, in April 2021 the Magic of Music returned to celebrate its 25th anniversary with three concerts.
Musicians from the RNO put on two spring concerts – on April 11 and 13 – for children from boarding schools and children with special needs and their families.
Two chamber concerts were held in the House-Museums of Marina Tsvetaeva and Alexander Herzen, respectively. The combination of the music and the historical-literary locations made the concerts truly special affairs for both the students and the RNO musicians, offering the children a unique opportunity to hear an engaging live music concert.
The third event, the 25th-anniversary concer,t was held on April 15 in the State Pushkin Museum for families who survived the Chernobyl tragedy. The RNO chamber orchestra, under the baton of Alexey Sobolev, played the magnificent music of Bach, Haydn, Pergolesi, Paganini, Sarasate, Doppler and others, featuring great soloists of the RNO: Olga Chepizhnaya (violin), Anna Panina (violin), Maxim Rubtsov (flute), Vitaly Nazarov (oboe), Dmitry Aizenstadt (clarinet), Alexey Serov (French horn), Konstantin Grigoriev (trumpet) and Leonid Ogrinchuk (basso continuo).
